I know some of you have the Q, but I am not sure which of these to get. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,

I've had the Treo for several weeks now and love it. It runs a full version of Windows Mobile unlike the Q which runs the crippled Windows Smartphone OS. The keyboard on the Treo is pretty comfy to use. While the phone is thicker then the Q I don't find it to be that big of a deal. It still fits in my pocket and the extra heft actually, I think makes it a little easier to manage.

Well it depends on what you want from your phone. If you want a PDA replacement phone then get the 700W. If you want a small phone that thinks its a PDA get the Q. Riddler, Diggadevil and myself all have the Q. Riddler I think went from a Blackberry to the Q, Digg went from a standard flip style phone to the Q and I went from a Panasonic Duramax to the Q.
Basically the 700W is a PDA with phone functions built into it. The Q is a phone with funtions like E-Mail, video, music, notes, calendar and the ability to sync with your PC. But keep in mind it does not have touch screen nor does it support Windows Mobile software (well it does some).
I like the Q but sometimes I wish I would have gotten a PDA phone. I know I made the right choice at the time though.

Which carrier are you looking at? that in and of itself will make a big difference in the phone you get.
If verizon, and if you are not in too big a hurry.. it may be worth it to wait a month or so... there are some rumblings (and getting louder every day) that there will be two new phones coming in the june - july months:
the Motorola Q9M : a cdma version of the new Q9. New form factor for the Q, runs Windows Mobile 6 instead of 5 like the original Q.
the Palm Treo 800w: supposedly a new palm treo w/ no external antenna nub like the 700w, but running windows mobile 6, screen going to 320 x 320 (up from 320 x 240), and also supposedly the first treo w/ wifi built in.

If they make a Treo with a screen larger then 240 by 240 I will have to see what I can do about upgrading. My only true complaint about this phone is that the screen is pretty small. I love the Treo because it has a touch screen but using the stylus to take notes is pretty damn near impossible due to the screen size.

Thanks for the info. guys. I guess I will wait to see what the treo 800 brings. I am just tired of carrying my ipaq and phone with me and having different sets of phone numbers and addresses.
Thanks again.

What phone do you currently own? It may not be all that difficult to get your PIM information in sync between it and your Ipaq.

I have a Razr right now, but I am also looking at active synch across Verizon's network to get to the exchange server. Plus, I am not crazy about the software on the Razr and don't really want to hack it right now. I have it in the budget at work, and I need to use it so I don't loose it if you know what I mean

Prior to getting the Treo I carried a Razr V3c. I used Motorola Phone Tools to keep it synced with Outlook and my PDA. The app worked great. I strongly recommend this program to anyone with a Motorola phone that can use it. If you are going to be holding out for a time, waiting to see what the next Treo or Q is going to be like, you may want to pick it up. As for sync with exchange, go with whatever your carrier offers.

Well, this is for buisness, first I am not a big Nokia fan, second, I really want to have it be a PDA that has a phone integrated into it, preferably a windows based PC, Third it needs to be on the Verizon network and be sold by Verizon. I work in local government, so there are certain rules that I need to follow

Ok I see... well I'm a symbian freak myself so I'm a bit biased towards Nokia S60, but windows mobile is a great OS aswell, better for business use I guess. Though I must say Symbian S60 is more customisable & fun to use

The treo 800 does not have a bigger screen, just a higher resolution. I am still not a fan of the square screen, but i guess more 'real estate', even if just a resolution change could be decent.
So, MULE, what kind of backend will you be using for email and such for whatever phone you get? Will you be using exchange, or goodlink, or verizon's own "push" stuff?
If you need any help, let me know; this is the kind of stuff i do every day.
