Catalyst 10.6 showed some issues with my combination of hardware. Resume from sleep seemed to produce some strange behavior when firing up some games. A minute or two into each game would crash with 'GPU has stopped responding but has recovered'. Sometimes we would get wild geometry artifacts, like when a GPU overheats, forcing a restart of the machine to regain 3D capability. We could not reproduce this error in an AMD based chipset platform, leading me to believe this is not a widespread issue. We also had issue with multi-monitor settings being applied between restarts. Using an Acer 22" LCD Monitor and LG 37" 720p LCD for multimedia entertainment, disabling the LG, and then restarting, the disabled setting was forgotten, and the LG would become active again. While not a huge deal it was frustrating, and thankfully Catalyst 10.7 seems to have alleviated these issues.

On the performance side of things we don't see anything new out of the driver. It's funny, but when talking to people it seems that most are sitting on the 10.4 drivers still, which seem to have been the best this year. To be honest, if there's nothing that stands out for you in the release notes, there's no real reason to upgrade.
