Hmmmm remakes?

I reckon Blade Runner wouldn't be too bad remade, add some nice CG... that kind of thing.

ooo and the first Starwars movies! (ep. IV, V, VI) I would love to see how they would mess them up! :D

'The Longest Day"
"A Bridge Too Far"

I'd also like to see a War of the Worlds but from a military perspective instead of a civilians. Go through the chain of events leading upto the invasion, during the invasion, and the aftermath.

I felt that Spielberg did a good job with the WOTW remake.

I agree with your war movies though.

Seriously? Did you actually watch the movie? It was horrible at best. Tom Cruise completely "phoned in" the acting and was upstaged by an 8-year-old. The effects were pretty but there was no life to the characters.

*Spoiler alert*

Even when Tom killed Tim Robbins (who did a decent job) there was nothing there. No emotion or connection or anything. Sorry, Steven dropped the ball on this one.

Yes I saw the move. Several times. I liked it. It was good homage to the original film.

Anyway, I would like to see a remake of Dune. The TV miniseries that came out a few years ago was good. Not great, but good. Throw a gazillion-dollar CGI effects budget at this remake and hire Hollywood's best storytellers to direct it and you'll have an absolute winner at the cinemas. Has to be rated-R though. Frank Herbert's book was fairly violent.

ROBOCOP - 19 years ago, I thought this movie was so cool. I saw it again last year (enhanced version, but it was just 16:9 enhancement), and the animation scenes in it were such a joke. I don't want them to re-film the whole movie, but just want to see ED-209 scenes enhanced.

before I actually mentioned it, didn't seem like such an old movie, but damn.. I saw it 19 friggin years ago?? ugh..

Hard to believe that it's 20 years old already. That movie ruled. And exactly what is Robocop doing now (Peter Weller)? He's a history professor at Syracuse Unitversity.

Speaking of Peter Weller, another movie I would love to see remade is The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.

:( "the thing" or "Star wars" ...even "Fist of the north star" (1995)

Sadly all re-make turn out ugly.(Example: NBC Knight Rider2008 using a Ford Mustang)

The Thing we're familiar with was twist on the 1951 horror film The Thing From Another World. The original movie absolutely sucks when you compare it to the 1982 remake. While I think remaking John Carpenter's classic adaptation would prove difficult or even pointless, the ending did leave the possibilities open for a sequel. I wonder if Kurt Russel and Keith David would be up for another go-around (being they were the only 2 remaining survivors, and even THAT was left for the viewer to decide). :)

I can't believe that I went all this way through this thread and forgot to mention remaking 2001: A Space Odyssey

From the looks of it, there are some on our list that will be remade. While some are certain, others might still be rumor.

-Conan The Barbarian
-TRON
-Death Race (trailers are already out there)
-Robocop
-The Thing
-Clash of the Titans
-The Last Starfighter
